To support this mission, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Software Testing Intern who is excited to work on real-world AI-driven applications and contribute to a product that will shape the future of HR and talent management in Africa and beyond.

You will work closely with the engineering, design, and product teams, helping to test features as they are developed, ensuring that all components are functional, and validating the overall reliability of the application. This role is also a solid pathway into a full-time Techlerator QA or Software Testing position.
Key Responsibilities
As a Software Testing Intern, you will perform a wide range of tasks that support product quality and ensure an exceptional user experience:
Product Testing
- Test an advanced AI-driven HR application across both web and mobile platforms to ensure stability and performance.
- Conduct manual testing to identify system bugs, inconsistencies, crashes, and usability gaps.
- Evaluate user-facing features to ensure accuracy, smooth flow, and ease of navigation.
Documentation & Reporting
- Clearly document test scenarios, test cases, and test results in an organized format.
- Prepare reports summarizing defects, anticipated risks, and potential improvements.
- Maintain accurate records of testing progress and identified issues.
Collaboration
- Work closely with developers to replicate and troubleshoot reported bugs.
- Communicate findings effectively with product managers to support feature validation.
- Participate in team discussions, sprint meetings, and product reviews as needed.
Testing Cycles & Quality Support
- Contribute to regression testing to ensure new updates do not break existing features.
- Support smoke testing to verify core functionalities are stable.
- Assist in functional and exploratory testing cycles to discover unexpected issues.
- Log defects using assigned tools and follow them until resolution and verification.
- Provide recommendations to improve testing processes, standards, and project documentation.
Requirements
To excel in this internship, you should meet the following criteria:
- A current student or recent graduate in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Basic understanding of software testing concepts such as manual testing, bug reporting, and writing test cases.
- General familiarity with web and mobile applications.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to spot irregularities, broken flows, and usability issues.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills in English for documenting reports and collaborating with the team.
- Curiosity, eagerness to learn, and a genuine desire to understand how AI products work behind the scenes.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
While not mandatory, the following will give you an advantage:
- Prior exposure to QA and productivity tools such as Jira, Trello, Notion, TestPod, or TestRail.
- A foundational understanding of automation testing tools or frameworks.
- Interest in artificial intelligence, HR technology, or user-centered digital products.
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
