The Women for Africa Foundation Learn Africa Scholarship Programme 2026/2027 is a prestigious initiative designed to empower young African women through access to high-quality higher education and professional training opportunities.
In today’s rapidly changing and often uncertain global landscape, investing in the education of women has become more critical than ever. Launched by the Women for Africa Foundation, the Learn Africa Programme has already impacted over 462 African women, providing them with opportunities for academic advancement, research, and leadership development. Many of these beneficiaries have gone on to make meaningful contributions in their respective countries and industries.

What’s New in the 2026 Edition?
The 2026/2027 edition represents a significant expansion of the program, offering:
- Over 100 scholarships across multiple disciplines
- 28 continuation scholarships for current beneficiaries to complete their studies
- New academic fields and partner institutions
- Increased opportunities for both online and in-person study programs
This expansion reflects the Foundation’s commitment to broadening access and deepening impact.
Programme Objective
The Learn Africa Scholarship Programme aims to:
- Promote equal access to education for African women
- Strengthen female leadership and professional development
- Support capacity building in key sectors across Africa

General Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a female candidate
- Hold nationality and residency in an African country
- Be currently enrolled in an African university OR hold a recognized university degree from an African institution
- Meet the specific requirements of the chosen scholarship (these vary by course and institution)
- Submit only one application (multiple applications will not be accepted)
Scholarship Benefits
The benefits vary depending on the type of scholarship (online or in-person):
Online Scholarships
- Full coverage of tuition fees
- Access to academic resources and learning platforms
👉 Note: These scholarships do not cover travel, accommodation, or living expenses.
In-Person Scholarships
For selected programs, beneficiaries will receive:
- Full tuition coverage
- Round-trip airfare
- Accommodation and meals (or a monthly stipend)
- Health insurance
These scholarships provide a complete study experience abroad, allowing participants to fully focus on their education.
Special Scholarship Categories
🔹 PLANETA Scholarships
- Cover tuition fees only
- Do not include travel, accommodation, health insurance, or living expenses
- Open to African women who can self-fund additional costs while studying in Rabat, Morocco
🔹 EADA Larson-Torras Scholarship
- Covers 100% of master’s tuition fees
- Includes free accommodation during the program
👉 However, recipients must cover:
- Travel costs
- Health insurance
- Daily living and personal expenses
