Introduction
The Afreximbank Group is a leading pan-African financial institution made up of several key entities, including the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), the Fund for Export Development in Africa (FEDA), the Pan-African Payments and Settlements System (PAPSS), and Afrexinsure. Its shareholders include African governments, private sector investors, and international institutions. The Bank operates under a formal agreement signed by member states and organizations, which grants it international organization status, alongside a charter that governs its structure and operations.
Headquartered in Cairo, Egypt, Afreximbank has expanded its presence across Africa and beyond, with offices in Abuja (Nigeria), Harare (Zimbabwe), Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire), Kampala (Uganda), Yaoundé (Cameroon), and Bridgetown (Barbados). Its subsidiaries are strategically located across Africa, including FEDA in Kigali, Rwanda, and Afrexinsure in Mauritius and Cairo, while PAPSS is also based in Cairo.
