Fully Funded PhD Scholarships – Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences (FHSS)

The University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) is inviting applications for 15 fully funded PhD scholarships within its Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FHSS) for the September 2026 intake. These prestigious scholarships are open to outstanding and highly motivated candidates who wish to pursue full-time doctoral research in a dynamic, international academic environment.

Successful applicants will commence their studies on 19 September 2026, with funding provided for up to 36 months, subject to satisfactory academic progress.

Scholarship Benefits

Each scholarship provides comprehensive financial support, including:

  • Full tuition fee waiver
  • Monthly living stipend of RMB 4,500
  • Opportunities from Year 2 to gain additional experience and income through:
    • Teaching Assistant roles
    • Research Assistant positions

Graduates of the programme will be awarded a University of Nottingham PhD degree, which is fully recognised and accredited in both the United Kingdom and China. Importantly, the degree certificate makes no reference to the location of study, ensuring global recognition.
