Role Overview: Donor Relations Coordinator

The Donor Relations Coordinator will lead and strengthen Geneva Call’s engagement with institutional donors, ensuring sustainable funding and long-term partnerships that support the organization’s global mission.

This role sits at the intersection of fundraising strategy, donor stewardship, and grant management, working closely with headquarters teams and field offices. The successful candidate will oversee donor engagement across multiple regions, support high-quality funding proposals, and contribute to Geneva Call’s long-term resource mobilization strategy.


Key Responsibilities

Donor Engagement & Fundraising

  • Identify, monitor, and analyze institutional funding opportunities from bilateral and multilateral donors, foundations, and international agencies
  • Build and manage strong, strategic relationships with existing and prospective donors
  • Develop donor engagement plans to support long-term partnerships and funding continuity

Proposal Development & Grant Negotiation

  • Support and coordinate the development of high-quality funding proposals and concept notes
  • Lead or contribute to grant negotiations, ensuring alignment with donor requirements and organizational priorities
  • Collaborate with program, finance, and field teams to ensure accurate budgets and compliant submissions

Donor Coordination & Reporting

  • Coordinate donor meetings, briefings, field visits, and high-level engagement events
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records, funding pipelines, and reporting calendars
  • Analyze funding trends and produce internal reports to support strategic decision-making

Knowledge Management & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with donor rules and contractual obligations
  • Support learning and best practices in donor relations and institutional fundraising across the organization

Required Qualifications and Experience

To succeed in this role, candidates should demonstrate:

  • An advanced university degree in international relations, political science, development studies, humanitarian affairs, or a related field
  • At least 8 years of professional experience in donor relations, institutional fundraising, or resource mobilization
  • Strong knowledge of institutional donors, including government agencies, multilateral organizations, and foundations
  • Proven experience in budgeting, grant management, and donor compliance
  • Excellent coordination, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Fluency in English and Arabic (French is considered a strong asset)
