Role Overview
As Global Communications Coordinator, you will support GBPN’s communications strategy and day-to-day delivery across multiple platforms. This role combines strategic thinking, strong writing skills, and content coordination, ensuring that GBPN’s work is clearly communicated, widely visible, and effectively positioned to influence policy and practice.
Working closely with the Global Communications Manager, regional teams, and technical experts, you will help shape narratives around climate action in buildings and amplify GBPN’s voice at the global, regional, and national levels.
This is a remote, home-based consultancy, offering flexibility while working in a dynamic international environment.
Key Objectives of the Role
- Strengthen GBPN’s global communications output and consistency
- Translate complex technical and policy content into clear, engaging language
- Support communications for projects, partnerships, and funding initiatives
- Increase visibility and impact of GBPN’s work across digital platforms
- Contribute to a coherent global narrative on buildings and climate action
Core Responsibilities
Content Development & Writing
- Draft and edit high-quality content, including blogs, feature articles, opinion pieces, case studies, and short explainers
- Develop engaging content for social media platforms (LinkedIn, X/Twitter, newsletters, and campaigns)
- Support the creation of press materials, talking points, and key messages
- Adapt technical research and policy outputs into accessible, audience-friendly formats
Digital & Platform Support
- Contribute to website updates, including project pages, news, and resources
- Support the planning, drafting, and distribution of newsletters and email campaigns
- Assist with content scheduling and coordination across platforms
Project & Grant Communications
- Provide communications support to global and regional projects, especially in Africa, Asia, and the Pacific
- Contribute to donor-facing content, including grant proposals, reports, and impact summaries
- Ensure alignment between project objectives and communications outputs
Collaboration & Coordination
- Work closely with internal teams, consultants, and partners across multiple time zones
- Support coordination of communications inputs from technical experts and regional leads
- Maintain clear workflows and timelines for communications deliverables
Required Profile & Skills
GBPN is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented communicator who can work independently while contributing effectively to a global team.
Education & Experience
- University degree in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, International Relations, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience in writing, editing, or content creation for professional or policy-focused audiences
Core Skills
- Excellent written and editing skills in English (essential)
- Ability to translate complex or technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Confidence working remotely in a global, multicultural environment
Interests & Knowledge

Contract & Compensation
