To be eligible for the 2026 Mauritius Africa Scholarships Scheme, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a citizen and resident of an African Union member state or an African Commonwealth country
  • Have already applied for a full-time, on-campus programme (Diploma, Degree, MPhil, or PhD) at a public Higher Education Institution in Mauritius
  • For undergraduate programmes:
    • Applicants must be at least 18 years old
    • Must not have reached their 26th birthday by 1 January 2027
  • Meet the academic and admission requirements of the chosen Mauritian institution
  • Be available to commence studies in Mauritius in the 2026 academic year

Duration of the Scholarship

The scholarship is awarded for the minimum official duration of the programme or the maximum duration listed below, whichever is shorter:
