Career Path & Programme Structure

The programme is delivered in three progressive phases, each designed to build competence and confidence:

Phase 1: Classroom Training (Foundational Stage)

Participants begin with structured classroom training focused on core banking principles, sales techniques, customer relationship management, financial products, and compliance standards. This phase lays a solid foundation and prepares trainees for real-world banking responsibilities.

Phase 2: Shadowing & Field Immersion

In this phase, trainees are attached to experienced professionals and teams within the bank. They gain hands-on exposure by observing day-to-day banking operations, engaging with clients, and participating in sales and relationship management activities.

Phase 3: Full Deployment

Successful trainees are fully deployed and transition into a Relationship Manager role. At this stage, participants are expected to manage client relationships, drive business growth, and contribute directly to the bank’s performance.


Eligibility & Requirements

Wema Bank is seeking passionate, driven, and customer-focused individuals who aspire to grow and excel within the banking industry. Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • A minimum of Second Class Upper (2:1) or equivalent in any Business or Social Science-related discipline from an accredited university
  • At least five (5) credits, including Mathematics and English, in WAEC, NECO, or equivalent examinations
  • Not older than 26 years at the time of application
  • Completion of NYSC with a valid discharge certificate
  • Strong interest in sales, client relationship management, and financial solutions
  • 0–2 years of experience in sales or relationship management is an added advantage
