Digital Content Creation Intern (Remote)

Location: Remote
Duration: 3 months
Workload: 21–30 hours per week
Salary: USD 800 per month

Role Overview

The Digital Content Creation Intern will support ACLED’s multimedia and communications efforts by creating engaging visual and digital content. This role is ideal for early-career creatives who want hands-on experience in an international research organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create videos, animations, and multimedia content under supervision
  • Design graphics, infographics, and data visualizations
  • Manage and organize digital assets and branding materials
  • Support marketing, outreach, and communications activities
  • Assist with administrative tasks within the multimedia team

Requirements

  • Recently completed or nearing completion of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in visual communications, content creation, multimedia, or a related field
  • 1–3 years of experience using Adobe Suite (Premiere Pro, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Strong visual storytelling skills, particularly for social media
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage

Backend Developer (Remote)

Salary: USD 58,000–68,000 annually

Role Overview

The Backend Developer will design and maintain ACLED’s web-based platforms and APIs, supporting large-scale data systems used globally for conflict analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain server-side logic and APIs

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional backend development experience
  • Strong expertise in Python and SQL
  • Experience with Docker, cloud platforms (AWS preferred), and API development

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, Airflow, and OAuth 2.0
  • Familiarity with ACLED data or conflict research
  • Advanced degree in computer science, engineering, or related fields
